Welcome to Separation Support Network

Professional, empathetic and knowledgeable support

Susan Crain · Founder

After completing a law degree with a major in psychology, Susan witnessed first-hand the urgent need for more integrated support for individuals navigating relationship challenges, particularly the profound emotional, financial, and legal impacts of prolonged and adversarial family court proceedings.

This experience shaped her commitment to developing more holistic, wrap-around services for people experiencing relationship concerns, considering separation, or already navigating divorce. She recognised that many clients required not only legal or practical guidance, but also emotional support, strategic coaching, and structured assistance with safety planning, documentation, parenting arrangements, and negotiation processes.

As a result, Separation Support Network was established to provide integrated counselling and coaching support. The service has assisted hundreds of clients to feel more emotionally supported, organised, and prepared during complex relationship transitions.

Susan has also worked extensively alongside survivors of domestic and family violence and is recognised for her contribution in this field. She was named a Finalist for the 2025 Dame Quentin Bryce Domestic Violence Prevention Advocate Award in Queensland, Australia.

She has worked closely with the Be There Foundation and has also collaborated with, advised, or contributed to organisations including Open Haven, Act for Kids, Mater Hospital, and RizeUp.
